EasyJet Launches Direct Manchester–Montpellier Route, Boosting Summer Travel Options

Low-cost carrier easyJet has officially launched a new direct route connecting Manchester Airport with Montpellier, marking a significant expansion of its UK–France network for the summer 2026 season. The service, which began operations on 30 March 2026, runs twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, offering travellers a convenient and affordable link to southern France’s Mediterranean coast.

The new route is particularly notable as it provides one of the only direct connections between Manchester and Montpellier, a vibrant city known for its historic architecture, cultural attractions, and proximity to popular beach resorts. Flights are scheduled to operate throughout the peak summer period, targeting both leisure travellers and city-break tourists seeking sunshine destinations with short flight times of just over two hours.

Fares are positioned to remain budget-friendly, with one-way tickets starting from around £26–£35, reinforcing easyJet’s strategy of expanding affordable travel options across Europe. The airline says the new connection is expected to be especially popular given Montpellier’s reputation for over 300 days of sunshine annually and its growing appeal among UK holidaymakers.

This latest addition forms part of easyJet’s broader expansion across regional UK airports, with Manchester continuing to see increased connectivity and new destinations as airlines respond to rising demand for direct European travel.
