Passengers aboard a Ryanair Boeing 737-800 faced a lengthy and frustrating journey after adverse weather disrupted a flight from Alicante, Spain, to Cornwall Newquay Airport in the United Kingdom.

Flight FR2955 departed Alicante-Elche Airport bound for Cornwall Newquay but was diverted to Dublin Airport after weather conditions affected the planned operation.

The disruption continued on Saturday, 24 October 2026, when the aircraft departed Dublin for Bristol Airport. Passengers were expected to continue their journey towards Cornwall by road. However, challenging weather conditions reportedly prevented the aircraft from completing its planned arrival, resulting in another diversion and an unexpected return to Spain.

The disruption turned what should have been a relatively short trip into an approximately eight-hour ordeal for passengers, with two diversions disrupting their travel plans.

The incident highlights how adverse weather can affect airline operations across multiple airports, forcing crews to change routes and leaving passengers facing lengthy delays and alternative travel arrangements.
