Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines Expand Singapore–New Zealand Network for Winter 2026
SINGAPORE – Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines are set to boost their partnership between Singapore Changi Airport and New Zealand ahead of the Northern Winter 2026 season, introducing additional flights, increased seat capacity, and new direct services to Christchurch.
Beginning in late October 2026, the two airlines will increase overall capacity on routes between Singapore and New Zealand by 17 percent, adding close to 72,000 extra seats across their combined network. The expansion comes as demand continues to rise for travel between New Zealand and destinations across Asia, India, and Europe.
As part of the growth plan, Air New Zealand will introduce three weekly non-stop flights linking Singapore and Christchurch using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The seasonal service will run from October 25, 2026, through March 27, 2027, during the Northern Winter schedule.
The new Christchurch operation will complement Singapore Airlines’ current services to the South Island city, where the carrier already operates up to 12 weekly flights during peak travel periods. Combined, both airlines will offer as many as 15 weekly Christchurch services between November 2026 and February 2027.
In addition, Air New Zealand will increase frequencies on the Auckland–Singapore route with four extra weekly flights operated by Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft. The airline said the additional services will improve travel connections for passengers arriving via Singapore from Europe, Southeast Asia, and India.
The expanded alliance is also expected to strengthen tourism access to New Zealand’s South Island while giving travelers more seamless onward connections through Singapore Airlines’ extensive international network.
