Emirates and South African Airways Expand Partnership with New Codeshare Routes

Emirates and South African Airways (SAA) have taken another major step in strengthening their long-standing partnership by expanding their reciprocal codeshare agreement, giving travelers more seamless connections across Southern Africa.

Under the enhanced agreement, Emirates will place its flight code on nine additional South African Airways domestic and regional routes operating from Johannesburg. The move will allow passengers arriving on Emirates’ international flights to connect more easily to destinations across South Africa and neighboring countries using a single booking and streamlined travel experience.

The expanded partnership is expected to boost convenience for both business and leisure travelers while supporting tourism and trade throughout the region. It also reinforces Johannesburg’s position as one of Africa’s leading aviation hubs, providing improved access for international visitors traveling to destinations across the continent.

The agreement builds on the successful relationship between the two airlines and reflects growing demand for better regional connectivity. By combining Emirates’ extensive global network with SAA’s domestic and regional reach, passengers will benefit from more travel options, improved scheduling, and easier onward connections.

As international travel continues to recover and demand for African destinations grows, the expanded codeshare partnership is set to play an important role in strengthening air connectivity and supporting the region’s aviation industry.
