United Flight Attendants Approve Historic Labour Deal

Flight attendants at United Airlines have voted to ratify a landmark new labour agreement that delivers major pay increases and hundreds of millions of dollars in back pay.

The deal includes average salary raises of 31%, with some crew members expected to receive even larger increases depending on seniority and position. The agreement also provides $741 million in back pay, covering the years flight attendants worked without a new contract in place.

The new contract marks one of the most significant cabin crew labour agreements in recent US aviation history and comes after years of negotiations between the airline and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA).

Union leaders say the agreement improves not only wages, but also scheduling flexibility, working conditions and overall quality of life for cabin crew members.

The vote is seen as a major win for labour groups across the airline industry, as workers continue pushing for better compensation amid strong travel demand and rising airline profits.
