Severe Weather Triggers Widespread Flight Disruptions Across the Middle East
Severe weather conditions across the Middle East have caused significant disruption to air travel, with 27 flights terminated and 23 delayed across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Jordan.
Major carriers including Gulf Air, Saudia, Royal Jordanian, and Pegasus Airlines were affected as thunderstorms, strong winds, and reduced visibility forced aircraft to remain grounded at several key airports, including Bahrain International, Jeddah, Amman, and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen.
Pegasus Airlines recorded the highest number of disruptions, while Gulf Air, Saudia, and Royal Jordanian also reported multiple cancellations and delays on regional and international routes.
Airlines are working to rebook affected passengers and restore schedules as weather conditions improve. Travellers are advised to monitor flight status updates closely and allow extra time at airports as operations stabilise.
