Air Zimbabwe Set to Launch Harare–London Flights on 1 July
HARARE – Zimbabwe’s national carrier, Air Zimbabwe, is set to mark a significant milestone with the planned launch of direct flights between Harare and London on 1 July.
The new service is expected to restore a direct air link between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom, providing travelers with a more convenient option for business, tourism, education, and family visits. The route is anticipated to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two countries while offering passengers a direct alternative to connecting flights through regional and international hubs.
The launch forms part of Air Zimbabwe’s broader strategy to expand its international network and increase its presence on long-haul routes. Industry observers believe the service could help boost tourism arrivals to Zimbabwe while also supporting the large Zimbabwean diaspora community living in the UK.
Air Zimbabwe has been working to modernize its operations and rebuild its route network in recent years, with the Harare–London service representing one of its most ambitious international developments.
Further details regarding flight schedules, frequencies, and aircraft deployment are expected to be announced closer to the inaugural flight date.
If successfully launched, the route will reconnect Zimbabwe’s capital directly with one of Europe’s busiest aviation markets, opening new opportunities for trade, tourism, and connectivity.
Note: Travelers are advised to check directly with Air Zimbabwe for official confirmation of schedules and booking availability.
