IndiGo Flight Bomb Threat Declared Hoax After Security Scare in Bengaluru
An IndiGo flight bound for Ahmedabad was delayed on Thursday after a handwritten bomb threat note was discovered on board the aircraft during pre-departure checks at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.
Flight 6E-6423, which was scheduled to depart at 8:00 pm on 16 July 2026, was preparing for its evening service when the suspicious note was found. Airport authorities immediately activated standard security protocols, with security personnel and bomb disposal teams conducting a thorough inspection of the aircraft.
Passengers and crew were safely disembarked while the aircraft underwent comprehensive security checks in accordance with established aviation safety procedures.
Following the inspection, authorities confirmed that the bomb threat was a hoax, and no explosives or suspicious items were found on board.
Although the incident caused operational delays, airport officials emphasized that the swift response demonstrated the effectiveness of India’s aviation security measures. Investigations are now underway to identify the individual responsible for the false threat.
