Korean Air has finalized a major order for 103 Boeing aircraft, including the 777X, 787 Dreamliner and 737-10, in one of the airline’s largest-ever fleet commitments.

Korean Air has finalized a record-breaking order for 103 Boeing aircraft, marking one of the largest fleet commitments in the airline’s history and reinforcing its long-term partnership with the US aircraft manufacturer.

The agreement covers Boeing’s 777X, 787 Dreamliner and 737-10 families, giving Korean Air a combination of next-generation widebody and narrowbody aircraft designed to support both long-haul and regional operations.

The 777X will provide additional capacity on high-demand international routes, while the 787 Dreamliner is expected to strengthen the airline’s long-haul network with its fuel-efficient design and long-range capabilities. The 737-10, meanwhile, will support shorter and medium-haul routes where capacity and operating efficiency are important.

The order comes as Korean Air continues to modernize and reshape its fleet. The airline is also integrating operations with Asiana Airlines, creating a significantly larger South Korean aviation group with an expanded international network.

For Boeing, the deal represents another major boost for its 777X, 787 and 737 MAX programs and demonstrates continued demand from major Asian carriers for newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft.

The 103-aircraft commitment could also have a significant impact on Korean Air’s future route network, allowing the airline to increase capacity while replacing older aircraft with newer-generation jets.

Korean Air’s massive Boeing order is more than a fleet expansion — it signals the airline’s ambitions for the next generation of global aviation.
